Lone Star Chapter 124 – Library Exhibit
Lone Star Chapter 124 has developed a traveling exhibit of clocks, watches, books and ephemera suitable for exhibits in libraries. The exhibit is the result of a suggestion from Chris Grim, a Chapter member who volunteers at his daughter Bella’s school. It was there that he got the idea of a horological exhibit for children. The exhibit is named for Bella. Bella’s grandparents Hugh and Evelyn Slough put the exhibit together.
The photo on the left shows Bella in front of the exhibit in the Duncanville, TX Public Library. The photos below are close ups showing the material displayed in Duncanville. This display contains about 55 items of the 95 items collected for the exhibit. Displays in other libraries may contain more items based on the size of the cabinet supplied by the library.
This exhibit is part of the Chapter’s mission as shown on the Chapter’s home page. Note the brochures promoting the NAWCC and Chapter 124 on top of the cabinet in the photo.
