Presidents Message - February 2023

  1. The 2023 Lone Star Regional is 10 days away and Chapter 124 is working hard to make it a successful Regional.
  1. $35 Pre-registration to stay open till Thursday February 23rd. Registration will then be $40 at the door. Please take the opportunity for the savings.
  1. Chapter 124 is having a Regional Pre-registration Packet Stuffing Meeting Saturday, February 25th at 9:00 AM. Please help us. The more volunteers, the faster the Packets are completed.
  1. Chapter 124 has great Presentations and Demonstrations scheduled.
  1. The chapter had several auction meetings to categorize the auction items.  The most recent, Saturday, February 18th, almost completed packing the items for transportation to the Regional.  One more meeting is scheduled on February 23, to finish packing and preparing some of the larger clocks for transportation.
  1. Thank you to all members who helped with our previous work days and a very big thank you to the people who donated items to the chapter. The auction will be larger than last year.
  1. Please contact the following for questions: Brian Schmidt to assist at the Regional Registration Desk, brians682@yahoo.com or 817-879-7555; Tom Hefner, Unloading and Loading, Auctions and Let’s Make A Deal Table, Thomasandsandy@gmail.com 817-565-8697; Justin Barren, Black Forest Exhibit. The Cedarburg State Bank McClintock Clock Project made progress on the secondary clock dials and Chime Mechanism. The Primary Clock Time Mechanism is scheduled to arrive from Wisconsin during the Regional. Work parties will be planned in the near future for this project.

Chapter 124 was asked to help fix the Carter County Courthouse Tower Clock in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Tom Hefner and I helped troubleshoot the clock. Still need to go back and make a minor adjustment on the Strike for the bell to ring.

Thank you to the Ardmore Oklahoma Masons for the Donation to Chapter 124. The donation was greatly appreciated.

Have a great day and even have a greater time at the 2023 Lone Star Regional March 2, 3 and 4.

Thank you,

Brian Schmidt
